21 August - Perth - Dubai - London

rain 15 °C

Thanks Kerry for giving us a lift to the airport in the middle of the night! Do you know how hard bit is to find fridge magnets in tourist meccas! Couldnt you have asked for something easy like Wedgwood!?! :-)

3am sleeping at Perth airport stock yards wondering how to get an upgrade… It occurs to us the only way is to be the first in the que – failed that as we were sleeping so 300 other travelleres beat us to it!

11 hours with the rest of the cattle, we arrived at Dubai, a balmy 41 degrees and 80% humidity, leaves us wondering why we are coming back here for a week… oh, that’s right, we’re coming back for the skiing and snow boarding!

We bumped into Shelley and Paul in the Dubai bookshop, who were incidently on the same flight! We were meeting them in Paris the following week! Another 7½ hours of cattle class we arrived at Heathrow airport to be greated by another 500 people waiting for the same 3 immigration officer to feed us through the cattle chanels!

Caught the express train to Victoria and transferred to another two lines and arrived at our hotel wardrobe at midnight. The room so small only one person can stand on the floor at a time. But it did make the shower look huge. What a sureal day!
